Dad, 37, who was always cracking jokes’ dies suddenly after watching football game

Paul McHugh, a cherished father recognized for his radiant smile, tragically passed away after returning from the Merseyside Derby. The 37-year-old gym instructor began October 21 by playing football with friends. Later that day, he attended the match at Anfield where Liverpool triumphed over Everton. Feeling unwell, Paul sought medical advice at a walk-in center. Though he returned home, an ambulance transported him to Aintree University Hospital during the night where he subsequently passed away. The exact cause of his death awaits a post mortem.

Colin Campbell, the manager at Lifestyles Alsop Fitness Centre where Paul was employed, spoke to the Liverpool Echo about Paul, a beloved father of one. He stated, “Paul was a pillar of support to all. Beyond the gym, he always offered an ear and assistance. His uplifting spirit was infectious. With 14 years here, he was an integral part of our community. His jovial nature and infectious laughter will be deeply missed. This gym is like a close-knit family.”To honor Paul, the gym has inaugurated a memorial for individuals to recount their cherished memories with him. Colin added, “The outpouring of online tributes testifies to the profound impact Paul had. While there are larger gyms, many are drawn to Lifestyles for its staff, and Paul was truly our gem.”Following the somber news, many shared their fond memories on social media platforms. Nancy Fletcher, Paul’s colleague at Lifestyles, expressed, “Paul, you’ve left an irreplaceable gap. You embodied kindness, constantly exuding positivity and humor. This loss is profoundly unjust. My deepest condolences to his girlfriend Megan, daughter Sienna, and his grieving family.”Kellie Owens, responding to a post by Lifestyles Fitness Centres, expressed her gratitude towards Paul saying, “Paul wasn’t just my trainer, he was my confidant. He used to say, ‘after leaving here, you’ll feel top-notch all day’, and he wasn’t wrong. His infectious smile and vitality will be profoundly missed.
