Jared Padalecki blasts The CW’s ‘cheap content’ strategy for Walker cancelation

“F*ck it. They can’t fire me again.”

Actor Jared Padalecki has expressed his frustration with The CW after the network cancelled his show, Walker, after four seasons.

In a recent interview with Variety, Jared Padalecki, who has played Cordell Walker on the action drama series since 2021, recently opened up about the series finale.

Padalecki also addressed The CW’s decision to axe the show, criticizing the network for opting for what he describes as “cheap content.”

He said, “They’re just changing the network around, where it’s not really going to be a TV network as much as it’s going to be.”

‘Here’s something fun for an hour that you’ll never watch again, but hopefully you watch it. And it’s cheap!’

He further added, “And I hate to say that, but I’m just being honest. I mean, fuck it. They can’t fire me again. I’m just being brutally honest.

“I think it felt to me like they were looking for really easy, cheap content that they could fill up time with.”

Jared Padalecki, who also starred as the co-lead in the CW hit Supernatural for over a decade, mentioned the network’s upcoming game shows Trivial Pursuit and Scrabble as examples of the shift in direction.

He said, “I mean, they have an hour of Trivial Pursuit and an hour of Scrabble coming up.”

” I don’t know why you wouldn’t just download the app or grab a board game and play with your friends, but they’re clearly just — what’s that great quote?

Padalecki has been considering his next moves, and it seems likely that he’ll join the final season of The Boys.

Eric Kripke, the creator of Supernatural, is keen to bring Padalecki on board.

Padalecki confirmed that he’s in active discussions with Kripke about a role in the show.

However, since filming for Season 5 won’t begin until 2025, his specific part has not yet been disclosed.

Walker is currently streaming on Max.
